Creative Commons is an entity that allows you to access a number of license creative works ranging from images, songs, videos and more for you own use. The usage is contingent on following the conditions in which that creative work is placed under.
Think of Creative Commons that gives you a pass to use whatever material you feel inspired to use, in the correct and ethical manner. Say your brother takes a nice picture of a sunset, and you want to use that image, you have to go through your brother and follow any conditions he placed upon that image because he is the owner and he can decide how it’s used.
Whether he wants to use his image for commercial use or free use, that is up to his discretion with being the owner. Creative Commons works under that same merit when it comes to use of creative works available to the public.

That brings us to the topic of universal design. Universal design ties the concept of creation together, as your work should from a standpoint of it being appropriate to use on whatever setting or medium desired, most notably a digital setting where majority of content is housed.
Universal design takes into account having your audience best interest when curating content so once published, other users are able to repurpose the content effectively and ethically without issue.
Using images ethically doesn’t have to be difficult, just make sure you’re following the rules when creating or using the content, and having the best interest of others during the process.
