One September morning, in my college housemate’s car, on our way to class, he played “No Love Songs” on the aux.
About 30 seconds into the record, I searched for the song on my phone to save & listen to later.
Featuring A Boogie Wit Tha Hoodie, an unfamiliar name, Richie Rozay came up on the search bar.
Eager to discover more of this addicting sound, I decided to download his most recent project.
Best decision ever.
After streaming all 14 tracks of Street Poet, as well as his other discography, I became an avid supporter of the Bronx artist.
“2 AM” & “Every Other Day” are just a few of my many favorites from Rozay.
Luckily, a month after that car ride, I got to interview him, in the heart of his neighborhood! (Cypress Ave stand up!)
Shoutout to my brother & Richie’s brother for setting this one up.
Although a nerve-wracking experience, I’m glad we got it done.
With that being said, enjoy my conversation with Richie! Featuring his longtime friend & fellow rising artist LNF Stacks.
Lastly, I apologize for the poor audio.
